Glenwood Hot Springs Resort

Glenwood Hot Springs Resort reevaluated their aquatics program, working with DHM Design and Cloward H2O to envision new amenities that still remain true to the core identity of the facility. The team was charged with exploring design elements that provide enhanced activities for children and families while honoring the history of the site and European Spa character. Out of that assessment came some bold new ideas that re-energize this 130+ year old facility. The first phase of work included a fountain that will serve as a splash-pad for all ages by day and a show fountain at night; a zero-entry toddler pool with interactive spouts and nozzles; a kid’s pool with a waterfall, play area and three water slides; and an adventure river that is integrated into the slope of the hillside and simulates the thrill of tubing down a whitewater river. The second and third phases of work, currently under construction, include a series of adult-oriented pools and hydrotherapy experiences. Above all, the goal for this multi-phase project is to elevate the visitor experience while respecting the resort’s contextual and cultural history.
