Margaret Carpenter Park

Thornton, Colorado

This $12 million project provides the finishing touches to the approximately 150 Acres that surround the existing Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center in Thornton Colorado and is intended to be the flagship park and recreation complex in the City of Thornton. The multi- use fields and trails that currently occupy the site are now accompanied by the following new recreational and entertainment amenities:

  • 4 lighted tennis courts
  • 2 basketball courts
  • Skate park
  • Sand volley ball court
  • Bocce Ball court, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard surface
  • Shade Shelters and Site Furnishings to accommodate a variety group sizes.
  • Informal open play field area.
  • 2 new fully serviced bathroom buildings
  • Concession building, boat storage building, boardwalk and pier to service the pond side activities such as paddle boats.
  • A repurposed Carousel supplied by the city will be located near the pond and playground area.
  • An Amphitheatre with seating for 300 to 500 people, a playground and spray pad round out the recreation/entertainment area neat the ponds.
  • 2 New parking lots and additional trails will be added to service these new amenities.
