DHM is working with the City of Aspen and the community to create the vision for affordable housing on the Lumberyard property, a 7-acre site between Buttermilk Ski Area and the Aspen Airport Business Center. Affordable housing is currently the City of Aspen’s number one priority going into 2020 as there is a large gap in the valley between what’s needed and what currently exists. DHM is leading the visioning process with a consultant team of planners, engineers, and community outreach specialists. We are currently finalizing an in-depth public engagement process before developing property concept plans. For more information on Aspen’s affordable housing effort, visit the project website. The Aspen Daily News also put out an informative article on September 25th with comments from the City’s Project Manager Chris Everson and DHM Principal Jason Jaynes.
