Hospitality

TRAVELERS WANT LUXURY, BUT WE BELIEVE THEY ALSO WANT AN AUTHENTIC SENSE OF PLACE. AND THAT ORIGINATES IN THE LANDSCAPE.

What makes a luxury hospitality experience memorable?

Sumptuous accommodations, pampering staff, invigorating and restorative activities — these are essential, but not necessarily unique. To us, a resort is less a property than a place, distinct in its ecology and cultural heritage. Our role as landscape architects is to identify the essential character of the place, and to design in ways that reveal it… with the lightest, least artificial gestures. Travelers may want luxury, but the discerning among them want more: the knowledge that they are somewhere authentic, and a sense of connection to its nature.
